Priya-Occupational Therapist, Clinic Director

Priya Mohan, MA, OTR/L is a registered and licensed occupational therapist. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 1981 in India and completed her Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California in 1987. While at USC, she received advanced training directly under Dr. A. Jean Ayres at the Ayres Clinic.  Priya joined the Irvine Therapy Services, Inc. staff in 1988. She is certified to administer and interpret the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT). In addition to the field of sensory integration, she has taken additional courses and training and is experienced in the areas of early intervention, oral motor evaluation and treatment, and handwriting. She is a trained provider of Integrated Listening Systems (iLs).  In her free time, Priya enjoys gardening, birding, and meditation.

Jackie-Occupational Therapist

Jacqueline Fein, MA, OTR/L is a registered and licensed occupational therapist. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Arts and American Studies from Scripps College in 1979 and completed her Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California in 1989. During graduate school, Jackie focused on adolescence and was awarded a grant from the Department of Education.  This grant developed a program to help high school students with disabilities transition to adult life through a school-based program in independent living skills through the Anaheim Union School District, where Jackie did a fellowship following graduation.  Always fascinated by the work of Dr. A. Jean Ayres, she went on to receive advanced training in Sensory Integration at the Ayres Clinic and is certified to administer and interpret the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT.)  Since 1989, Jackie has enjoyed being a part of the Irvine Therapy Services team, though she took several breaks to be at home with her three children.  She is passionate about helping her children at ITS discover their strengths and is committed to making sure these kids don’t “fall through the cracks.” She is a trained provider of Integrated Listening Systems (iLs).  During her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, camping, writing, gardening, cooking and studying Spanish.

Melanie-Occupational Therapist

Melanie Bruss, OTR/L is a registered and licensed occupational therapist with over 20 years of experience in pediatrics.  After completing a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Cape Town in 1981, she furthered her education by obtaining a post-graduate Higher Diploma in Education degree from Barkley House College of Education and a post-graduate Honors degree in Psychology from the University of South Africa. Melanie’s long term commitment to working with children and their families is reflected in a range of work experiences including her role as educator and director at the preschool and kindergarten levels for for a period of 5 years. Her long term goal to assist and support families and children with special needs led her to pursue a degree in occupational therapy. Melanie completed a post graduate degree in occupational therapy from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1996. Following her graduation, she was employed at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where she remained on staff for 4 years. During her time there, Melanie gained extensive experience working in acute care, rehabilitation and outpatient settings with infants, toddlers and children with a wide variety of physical and developmental challenges. Melanie joined the ITS staff in 2000 and is dedicated to facilitating the success of every child with an approach to inspiring confidence in their abilities. In addition to adopting a play-based approach to intervention, she is committed to incorporating parental involvement in the therapeutic process. Melanie is certified to administer and interpret the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT) and is a trained provider of Integrated Listening Systems (iLs). During her free time, Melanie enjoys her time with her family, including her twin children, gardening and painting.

Tami-Occupational Therapist

Tamara Mangum, OTR/L is a registered and licensed occupational therapist.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development from California State University, Fullerton in 1989, and completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California in 1990.  Tami has always focused on helping children succeed and achieve their goals at any level of ability. She has worked across all areas of intervention in pediatrics, including neonatal intensive care, pediatric rehabilitation, classroom intervention and clinical outpatient facilities. Tami is certified to administer and interpret the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) and has been with Irvine Therapy Services, Inc. since 2001.  In her free time, she enjoys surfing, homeschooling and travel.

Jennifer-Occupational Therapist

Jennifer Pon, MA, OTR/L is a registered and licensed occupational therapist. She has always had an interest in working with children, and began volunteering with children's ministries at her church from an early age.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine in 2005. While completing her degree at UCI, she became interested in working with children with special needs and loved the holistic approach and the blending of multiple disciplines within the occupational therapy profession. She completed her Master of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California in 2008 and joined the Irvine Therapy Services, Inc. staff later that year. In clinical practice, Jennifer incorporates using sensory-motor, developmental, and sensory integration techniques to support the development of gross and fine motor skills, facilitate play skills, and promote independence with activities of daily living. She is committed to helping the children at ITS reach their full potential. Jennifer is certified to administer and interpret the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT) and is a trained provider of Integrated Listening Systems (iLs). She is also familiar with the Handwriting Without Tears (HWT) curriculum. During her free time, Jennifer enjoys reading, crafting, spending time outdoors, and cheering for her favorite Los Angeles sports teams.

Sam-Occupational Therapist

Samantha Nesthus, MS, OTR/L is a registered and licensed occupational therapist. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach in 2010. While attending CSULB, Sam worked as a behavioral interventionist, helping children with Autism actively engage in the community. She discovered occupational therapy during her coursework at CSULB, and loved the play-based approach in working with children with various disabilities, the incorporation of both neurology and psychology in treatment, as well as the versatility of the profession. She completed her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2013, and joined the ITS staff later that year. Sam is certified to administer and interpret the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT). She is a trained provider of Integrated Listening Systems (iLs).  During her free time, Sam enjoys camping, hiking, water sports, practicing yoga, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her family and friends.

Benji-Office Manager

Benji joined the Irvine Therapy Services, Inc. office staff in 2001. As a member of the ITS team, she provides the essential behind-the-scenes support required to keep ITS running smoothly.

Shirley-Administrative Assistant

Shirley has been a member of the Irvine Therapy Services, Inc. office staff since 2004. Before coming to ITS, she was a preschool teacher for many years.   As a member of the ITS team, Shirley draws from her extensive experience and creates a friendly and warm atmosphere for the children and families at ITS.
